JAYDE & DAVE - SAMFORD SHOWGROUNDS
How and when did you both meet?
We met in 2004 and eventually started dating in 2012.
What type of vibe were you looking to create for your wedding?
We wanted to create a low-key and informal vibe. Although, it was still important for the styling to feel like us.
What was the most unforgettable part of the day?
By far the greatest moment was seeing each other for the first time as the ceremony began, walking down the aisle to one of our favourite songs and knowing that you're about to marry your best friend!
How and why did you choose your wedding venue?
As soon as we found out you could hire the Samford Showgrounds for weddings we knew it was perfect. Dave had grown up in the Samford area and it was easy for our guests to travel to. The hall was a blank canvas and allowed us to create our own style, with well maintained grass areas and a scenic backdrop.
Tell us about some of the special little details and special touches you made or planned?
One of the most important things to us was the music. We had a lot of fun in the lead up making playlists for the day with our favourite songs. We fell in love with some invitations by September Creative and slightly tweaked them to make them more us. We then carried this theme on from there with a skull feature piece on the day.
Why did you choose to work with Gathering Events, and was tell us what inspired your bar menu?
We loved the idea of having a Caravan Bar and Gathering Events really suited our look. We didn't really know how to pull together a wedding and the fact that they offered a wedding planning package too was amazing. Being able to supply our own alcohol also helped keep the costs down. We can't speak highly enough of Jen and her team. She helped guide us through the process and no question or request seemed to hard.
Ceremony song?
Endless Summer, Josh Pyke (covering The Jezabels)
First dance song?
We wanted to keep the formalities to a minimum so we didn't do a first dance.
Any wise advice you would offer other couples leading up to their wedding?
Things that you may think are important won't matter on the day. The only thing that matters is the person standing next to you.
With your wedding (and wedding planning) all wrapped up, how do you feel?
With the wedding planning over, we are using our time to plan new adventures together.
